1970's COAT & HAT ENSEMBLE

Coat and Hat & Purse made using:
1 ball... Elmore-Pisgah's Pearl #5 Cotton Gloss, red
Dress made using:
1 ball...Elmore-Pisgah's Rayon thread, Queenslace White
Size 7 hook or size needle to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 8 chs = 1" in both rayon & Cotton threads
Pearl #5 1" = 8 pattern rows
NOTE: Always count ch2 as a dc thought out pattern unless otherwise stated

PILL BOX HAT using Elmore-Pisgah's Pearl #5 Red and size 7 hook.
RND 1: Ch2, place 11 dc in the second ch from hook, sl st to join, ch2, DO NOT TURN. (12dc).
RND 2: Hdc in the next st, and 2 hdc in each st all around ending with 1 hdc in the same st as beg st, sl st to join, ch2, turn. (24 hdc).
RND 3: ( 2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in the next st) all around sl st to join. DO NOT TURN . (38 hdc)
RND 4: Sc in beginning st in the front lps all around, ch2, DO NOT TURN, (38 sc).
RND 5-8: Hdc in each st all around, sl st to join. Ch2, DO NOT TURN. (38 hdc). { At the end of rnd 8, ch1, TURN.
RND 9: Sc in each st all around. Finish off weave ends in. Putting some fabric stiffener on you finger, spread it around inside of hat only! Shape and allow to dry. completely.
