or Knit Picks (affiliate link) Comfy Fingering (75% Pima Cotton, 25% Acrylic) 218 yards/50 gram, color white, 1 ball
Needles:
circular and double pointed needles (dpn) US #1 (2.25mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Gauge: 30 st x 56 rows = 4" x 4" (10 x 10 cm) in garter stitch.
Notions:
yarn needle, 4 stitch markers, 3 buttons 3/8", sewing needle and thread of matching color to attach buttons
Abbreviations:
k - knit
p - purl
k2tog - knit 2 together
kfr&b - knit into front and back
pu&k- pick up and knit
yo - yarn over
m1 - make 1 increase - make a backward loop over the right-hand needle and in the next row/round purl/knit as a regular stitch.
RS - right side
WS - wrong side
sm - slip marker
pm - place marker
rm - remove marker
Pattern Notes:
Stockinette in rows:
Row 1 (RS): knit
Row 2: purl
Repeat 2 rows.
Garter stitch in rows: all rows knit
Garter st in rounds
Round 1: knit
Round 2: purl
Repeat 2 rounds
Seed stitch in rows:
All rows: *k1, p1 - repeat from * across.
Seed stitch in rounds:
Round 1: *k1, p1 - repeat from * around
Round 2: *p1, k1 - repeat from * around
Repeat rounds 1-2
Raglan increases: in every right side (RS) row, work till marker, m1, slip marker (sm), k1 (raglan stitch), m1. There are 4 raglan lines, repeat on each raglan line, thus the number of sts in each RS row will increase by 8.
The selvedge/edge stitches are worked as follows: knit the first stitch and purl the last one.
Button Bands (bb) are worked in seed stitch on 4 stitches in the beginning and at the end of each row.
Button holes are made at the end of RS rows 5, 15 and 25 in the following way: work as est. till the last 5 sts, p1, k2tog, yo, k1, p1.
Short Overview of the Pattern:
The jacket is worked top-down, seamlessly, back and forth in garter stitch with raglan increases. The button bands, peplum and ruffle on sleeves are worked in seed stitch.. The 1/2 short sleeves are worked in rounds on dpn in garter stitch with the ruffle worked in seed stitch.
Jacket
On circular needles, cast on 60 sts.
Row 1 (RS): k59, p1.
Row 2 (WS): k1, p59.
Repeat rows 1-2 one more time.
Check the stitches and place markers:
1 edge -4 left bb - 7 left front - 1 raglan (place the first marker before this st) - 10 left sleeve - 1 raglan (place the second marker before this st) - 12 back - 1 raglan (place the third marker before this st) - 10 right sleeve - 1 raglan (place the forth marker before this st) - 7 right front - 4 right bb - 1 edge
Row 5 (RS): k1, (k1, p1) twice, *knit till 1st marker, m1, sm, k1, m1 - repeat from * 3 times, knit till last 5 sts, p1, k2tog, yo, k1, p1. + 8 sts (68 sts)
Row 6 (WS): k1, (k1, p1) twice, knit till last 5 sts, (p1, k1) twice, p1.

Row 26 (WS): k1, (k1, p1) twice, k80, (p1, k1) twice, p1.

Sleeves
Work one sleeve at a time.
Transfer 30 sts from waste yarn to 3 dpn, 10 sts per needle, pu&k 5 underarm sts = 35 sts. The round begins with the underarm sts.
Round 1: knit around
Round 2: purl around
Repeat round 1-2 nine more times.
Round 21: k5 underarm sts, (k1, kfr&b) x 15 times,. = 50 sts
Round 22: (k1, p1) x 25 times
Round 23: (p1, k1) x 25 times
Repeat rounds 22-23 four more times. Bind off, cut yarn.
Finishing:
Weave in all yarn ends. Sew 3 buttons on the left button band.
